After this morning having beautiful weather, I only hoped that later in the evening the weather would just as amazing. Well, unfortunatly, that was not the case. Right when I arrived, the beach was packed with a party celebrating some event and the clouds were super thick and heavy. After a few minutes it started to rain. Oh no! This is little Winter, she didn't get upset in anyway when the rain started pouring. We were sitting on the beach under an umbrella waiting out the rain. Thank goodness it didn't last long but the sky wasn't as beautiful as I would have hoped it to be. I decided that I'd like to offer a reshoot so I'm excited to meet back up with Winter and her momma, Laura to make sure we got the best photo for their Christmas card. <3
Added: The reshoot took place a few days later at a different location & they came out as beautiful as we had hoped.
The morning of Sunday was really bright, there were'nt any clouds in the sky. I was worried about this session and if it'll be too harsh of light to get any usable photos. I was excited to meet up with Vicki and her family. When we arrived at the location, we saw some clouds roll in the sky and then the day was made. We ended up getting some beautiful photos of this family who clearly has a lot of love between them.
This is only the second large family I've photographed so I was a little nervous. There were six people altogether and the children were all so willing to participate with each other while also listening to my direction.
P.S. Look at this amazing color combination Vicki picked for her family! I was so excited to see these gorgeous people together. <3
Last night, my clients (who are my friends) were troopers. The day started with showers in Kaneohe, it was raining pretty hard so we ended up driving to a different location in hopes that it would be dry and we were able to get maybe 15 mins before it started raining again. The day might have been stacked against us but we were still able to get some beautiful photos and it was fun to be in the presence of a newborn. She was very alert and a little hungry ;). She was well taken care of, Lauren is such a great mom and she only just became one. It makes me excited for whenever my husband and I are ready to start trying for children. I can't wait to be a mom but at the same time, I am enjoying focusing on fun, traveling, and adventure. My husband and I are thinking in two years we might. That's still ways away. How many children do you want? We used to agree on two but more recently I'm leaning toward just one but, we'll see what happens. Life always has a way to surprise us. Newborns are so tiny and I absolutely can't want to get some snuggles in with this little girl, Grace, next time I see her to get my baby fix. Thank you Lauren, Jake, and Carol for trucking it out with me. I ended up having a good time, even if we got rained out. (:
This Saturday I had the privilege to be apart of this beautiful stylized photoshoot with a group of military spouse photographers and it was so fun.
First of all, this couple has such a heartfelt story that could easily make you cry, I don't know how much I can share but just know that they've been through hell and back. They were so sweet and made the photoshoot fun with their love for each other. You could feel their connection and it was magical.
The lead photographer who put this adventure together is Dana Arnold Photography (linked below), she moves in a few weeks from Oahu, Hawaii or Norfolk, Virginia and I know she is going to kill it there.
The skirt she is wearing is from Mr. Pretty Skirt (linked below) and the flower crown and bouquet is from Fantasical Floral Designs (linked below). I can't get over how long and flowy this skirt is, just look at it, I want it ;). This photoshoot was magical because the story behind it and the beautiful sunset that fell on them so perfectly.
Finally, Im proud to be apart of a group that view community over competition. It makes the biggest difference to have people you can go to with questions or advice and they're willing to lend a helping hand without feeling intimated of other's success.
This is my good friend Erica and her boyfriend, Mike; they came to visit Oahu and I had the pleasure of capturing the love between them two. We went to a beach that I love but don't take really anyone to because of how secluded it is and that's how I prefer it. Erica and I met when I lived in Oceanside, California on Camp Pendleton and we both worked at the Johnny Rockets on base. We became super close and were pretty much joined at the hip for several months. It was sad when Erica moved back home to New York before I moved to Hawaii. I'm happy I was able to take them here. (:
This night in September was one for the books. Look at those beautiful colors in the sky! I would have to say it's hard to decide whether I prefer sunsets or sunrises, I love both. I love the beginning of the way, waking up with the sun as well as watch the sun fall.
The love these two shared was so sweet, and you can't beat a man in uniform. #kissmesailor
